We have two important members meetings and a celebration for interested members to attend on Saturday April 1st at our Studio Complex in Bigge Street Liverpool.

Chairlady Update – March 2017

When the founders of 2GLF initially saw the potential for our Community Radio, I like to think that they may have seen a full orchestra tuning up to play a really magnificent new piece of music – one that could startle the world and bring joy and harmony to the listeners in our area.

We are now in to February, our New Year’s Resolutions are a thing of the past, some of us bemoaning the summer heat, whilst younger members are attempting to get a really good tan before winter. Since our AGM there have been many changes in the station and on the Board. At this half-way point it is a good time to take stock of where we are and where we want to progress in the remaining part of the year. What is new at the Station? Ben and Mark celebrate 10 years on-air together

Ben Hollist and Mark Flanagan have been behind the microphone for a total combined time of over 40 years. In that time they were both fortunate enough to have spent time on air at C91.3 Campbelltown; Mark has also spent time on air at 2CA Canberra and Triple M Sydney.

Board Update, Australia Day, CD Players

Dorothy Rook was appointed Chair of the Co-operative at the Board Meeting held on the 14th January 2017. She expressed an interest in carrying out the role and she was eagerly endorsed by the Board.

2017-18 Programming Applications

As part our regular programming process, everyone must submit a new program application form to secure a program within the 2017-2018 Program schedule.

Christmas Gathering The array of foods made sure that everyone went home with full stomachs and a happy glow.  The belly dancing reserved for the end of the event meant that there was a great finale. Talk around the table highlighted the reasons that people give their time to 2GLF. Radio tales were exchanged and it seems some days have a great deal of fun.  Wednesdays and Fridays topped the list with anecdotes. Ninka joined us and it was terrific to see her decked out in her Christmas gear.  A cheer went up when she walked in.
