Sydney pop artist Seryna Jane on the creation of her new single ‘Daniel’, her forthcoming EP and 2018

Seryna Jayne is a pop artist out of Sydney and recently Seryna Jayne released her new single ‘Daniel‘, a song essentially about exploring a love story gone to pieces. Speaking on the creation of Seryna Jayne’s second single, Daniel, Seryna Jayne explained to me about how Daniel came about, explaining the idea for the single came “after a pretty, messy [laughs] ending to a thing – I wouldn’t even call it a relationship – it was definitely just a thing [laughs].” “[it] left me in an emotional state where I just questioned a lot of things; of who I was and I guess for me like writing music has always been really therapeutic and almost necessary to be able to …

What So Not on the creation of his debut album ‘Not All The Beautiful Things’

Yesterday saw the release of Australian artist What So Not’s highly anticipated debut album ‘Not All The Beautiful Things’. I had the opportunity to sit down with What So Not – over the phone – to have a chat about the album, an album that had been in the works for the past couple of years, as What So Not explained to me, this was an album he “needed to pick a moment” to release, when he “thought it was the right time.” Expressing his satisfaction for the album, What So Not explains how bringing all these aspects of “music production, song writing, musicality and creativity” has given him the opportunity to put those all together to create such a …

Raymond Finn on the charge of the light horse at Beersheba

The last great cavalry charge took place on October 31, 1917. The assault on Beersheba began at dawn. Neither the infantry divisions of the British Corps nor the ANZAC Mounted Divisions had been successful by mid-afternoon. It was essential that the wells of Beersheba and the township be captured before dark. Elements of the 4th , 11th and 12th Light Horse took part in the charge and successfully overran Beersheba before the German troops were able to detonate the explosives which they had placed in the wells. The ANZAC Light Horse took 700 prisoners with the loss of 30 men on the day of the charge and another ANZAC died the next day. Throughout history honours for participation in battles …
