30th Birthday Celebrations for 89.3 2GLF

The team at 89.3 2GLF had an amazing day and night celebrating the grand opening of the state of the art studios Bigge Streest studios as well as the station’s 30th birthday last Saturday.

Many members of the community came along to share their appreciation for the efforts of the many volunteers who helped bring 89.3 2GLF to life and maintain it over the years.

NSW Governor, Marie Bashir attend the event and said she felt honored to attend and have the chance to meet the passionate team at 89.3 2GLF.

“It is a joy and as always a privilege to be here today,” she said. “There can be no doubt that the origin and successful continuity of 2GLF is an outstanding example of the Australian spirit. “Bravo and Thank You because it is a great chapter in history.”.

Governor Bashir also cut the ribbon that opened the station and toured the new premises. Mayor Ned Mannoun also attend the event to show his support as well as former mayor Wendy Waller who recounted her involvement with the station.

The day was followed by the 30th Birthday Party that was a night of performances, music, reminiscing about the days gone by as well as discussing the station’s bright future.
