Liverpool Council will officially launch a new logo and tag line on Saturday, the first change in more than 10 years. The previous marketing tag line, “creating our future together” will be replaced with the bolder “The Great South West” complete with a matching social media accounts & website (www.thegreatsouthw.com.au).
According to a report in the South West Voice, the council will spend around $270,000 of ratepayers money for the new logo & brand.
No word yet if Liverpool’s theme song “Creating our future together” will be replaced:
Local group all-girl group FYZO created the song during the last brand refresh in 2003. FYZO later become Mahogany on the second season of the X-Factor and toured Australia until 2013.
As part of the campaign, the Council delivered free lunches to more than 2,500 hungry office works in Martin Place over three days last week to promote the diversity of Liverpool’s local food retailers.
Grateful office workers gave thanks through social media, with the campaign generating 219 Facebook likes, 177 Instagram followers and 15 Facebook followers as of Tuesday night.
