Each year we elect a Board of seven Directors to manage the Co-operative and 2GLF. On 6th July you will be sent, via the post, a set of nomination papers for the Board 2015-2016.
If you have changed your address since last August, please let us know by sending an email to email@example.com. We have had a small number of members who have not received post and on investigation the address that we were given is no longer current. Most members get our emails, however, if you change your email address, please let us know.
We ask that you consider whether you have skills, enthusiasm, and time to serve on the 2015-2016 Board.
When we changed the Co-operative’s rules in 2010 we made one year the tenure for directors, (it had had been two years.) We felt this was suitable for members who wished to support the Board for one year and had particular skills to share. Of course, Directors can stand for further time if they wish, still have something to offer, and are re-elected. An effective and dynamic Board usually has a mix of experienced and new directors.
We urge you to read the information in the July mail out to see if you would be suitable for the particular Board roles.
If you have recently become a member of the Co-operative we would remind you that you need to have been a member for at least one year on 19th August 2015 (which is the date of the Annual General Meeting ) in order to stand for a 2015-2016 Board position. However, we have many long-time members who might wish to put their name forward.
If you are not sure when you became a member you can check your eligibility with me.
Please take your time to consider your skills and how they might help the station.
