NSW Seniors Week starts this Saturady, 14 March. To keep in line with the week’s theme “Be Inspired”, Fairfield City Council has two events that aim to stimulate creativeness and awareness.
Seniors Week is an opportunity for our older residents to celebrate their achievements and contribution to the community.
Fairfield City Council encourages seniors to remain active, healthy and independent and to share their wealth of wisdom and life experiences.
Council recognises that Seniors Week is a time to thank local seniors for their invaluable input to the City of Fairfield and acknowledge the important role they play.
Fairfield Champion reported that this year, there will be an opportunity to participate in tai chi, yoga, meditation, aqua fitness and Zumba classes.
On Tuesday, 17 March, Fairfield City Leisure Centres will show appreciation to seniors during its annual Seniors Open Day at Cabrvale Leisure Centre from 8:30am to 2pm. Because it’s also St Patrick’s Day, they’ll be having a “Green Them”.
On Thursday, 19 March, Council will partner with several local organisations to hold a Seniors Fair and Expo at Fairfield Forum.
Members and guests are welcome to take part in all activities and a free morning tea. It will be a great day for the whole family.
