Liverpool City Library is offering a broad range of events this month, from a lecture on Australian WWII aviation, a talk by a home-grown champion swimmer about her fascinating life journey and international success, to a poetry exhibition featuring the talents of local Liverpool students.

Red Room Poetry Object is a free national poetry-writing competition for students in Years 3-10.
Created by The Red Room Company, the project invites students and their teachers to submit poems about objects that are special to them. The Poetry Object exhibition will feature the creative works produced by Liverpool students in workshops with Australian poets and artists held at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.
Talk by Dr Michael Molkentin: Australia and the War in the Air (part of the ANZAC Centenary Commemorations)

Dr Michael Molkentin is a historian, teacher and battlefield guide, whose research focuses on the wartime histories of Australia with an emphasis on aviation and air power. Michael‟s latest book, titled „Australia and the War in the Air‟, and forms part of Volume 1 of Oxford University Press Centenary History of Australia and the Great War series.
