Members of the community are invited to attend information sessions on the EIS. Moorebank Intermodal Company (MIC) and their technical team will be on hand to answer your questions.
The information sessions will be held at Comfort Inn Hunts, corner Hume Highway and York Street, Casula on:
Thursday 23 October from 6pm to 8pm
Saturday 25 October from 2pm to 5pm
Tuesday 28 October from 6pm to 8pm
Liverpool Champion reported that MIC is seeking approval to begin site remediation, building demolition, heritage salvage works and the creation of supporting services for future construction works.
The statement is based on a number of updated studies of the terminal’s impact on air quality, noise, traffic, human health and other environmental factors.
MIC chief executive officer Ian Hunt said: “MIC is pleased to reach this milestone in the planning for one of the most important freight infrastructure projects being developed in Australia.
“I encourage members of the community to come along to the information sessions.”
Residents can make a submission on the statement, noting application number SSD 5066/EPBC 2011/6086, and sending it to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment and the federal Department of the Environment by December 8.
