Now in it’s third year, the annual food festival Parklands Food fest will be held on Sunday, 26 October from 10am until 4pm at the Lizard Log Amphitheatre within the Western Sydney Parklands.

This year’s theme is ‘GROW | MAKE | EAT’ with a whole range of interactive workshops, fresh produce stalls and gardening tips on hand to take you from paddock to plate.

Former MasterChef winner and celebrated TV personality Julie Goodwin will be on hand to take guests through some easy recipes to recreate in your kitchen and ABC Gardening Australia’s Costa will also get behind the kitchen bench to give a bespoke cooking demonstration using produce he has grown himself!

Little hands can also get involved in pizza making sessions and other interactive workshops while more than 30 stallholders will be selling the best produce and hand crafted food from across NSW.


Highlights include:

  • Dairy Road Alpacas – spinning fleece with live animals and hand -made garments
  • Barter Chickens – Baby chicken incubator, baby chicks for visitors to hold, raising chickens at home information
  • Sydney Dietetics – Kids Nutrition Workshops
  • Seed Harvest Spoon –children’s growing workshops & native bee habitat building
  • Healthy Harvest Kitchens –organic gardening, permaculture, worm farms, aquaponics
  • UWS Love Food Hate Waste – how to reduce the ‘good’ food we waste
  • Kids Pizza Making Workshops
  • Peppercorn Tasting Van – gourmet sausages and other products
  • Live entertainment by local musical acts and 9-piece latin reggae band Madre Monte
