A lot of people turned out to celebrate NAIDOC Festival last Thursday. It was a successful celebration of culture and diversity.
NAIDOC Week was marked with a flag-raising and smoking ceremony at Macquarie Mall before the annual street march.
The march was followed by a Family Fun Day at Bigge Park, Elizabeth Street, Liverpool from 11am to 2pm, which will include Aboriginal performances, workshops, rides, show bags, a free lunch and lucky door prizes.
Liverpool mayor Ned Mannoun said NAIDOC Week was an opportunity for the community to recognise the contribution of Indigenous people and cultures to Liverpool.
