Will the Wanderers find a finals Heartbeat in Melbourne?

admin Wanderers

The Western Sydney Wanderers have their fate in their own hands when face Harry Kewell’s Melbourne Heart on Saturday evening in Melbourne.

A win for the Wanderers will secure second position on the ladder, and a week off, plus a home semi final and a second chance for Tony Popovic’s team, who have been among the best teams in the A-League all season long.

The Wanderers do have a tough assignment though, with Melbourne Heart saying goodbye to Harry Kewell in their last game in the red and white stripes, before their deal to become Melbourne City next season. The Heart will be keen to ensure they send their home fans away from AAMI Park happy for one last time this year.

Melbourne Heart will be keen to spoil the party for the Wanderers, and a draw or loss will have a major impact on the makeup of the finals, and not just for the team from Western Sydney, who will then rely on other results to know their fate once the regular season ends on Sunday.

The result of the match will also have a major effect on the finals makeup, and chances of several clubs, including Melbourne Victory, Central Coast Mariners, and Adelaide United. The Top Six won’t be finalised until after Sunday’s match with Sydney FC having a chance to cause havoc amongst the finalists.

Any future finals matches will be advised here on www.893fm.com.au with times and details to be advised by FFA later this weekend or early next week.
