VB Cup: Wests Tigers vs Manly at Leichhardt

admin News

The Wests Tigers will be hosting their arch rivals in Manly on Sunday at Leichhardt Oval in all three grades of rugby league.

The Tigers will be looking to begin the day in style with a win over the struggling Eagles side in the NSW Cup in the pipeopener of the day.

The Tigers have been in good form in recent weeks, with several good wins, including last week’s come from behind effort over the NZ Warriors in Wellington, NZ.

Coach Paul Fletcher will be looking to key players like Blake Austin, Marika Koroibete, and Ben Murdoch-Masila to show their experience against the younger Manly side.

Fletcher will be wanting to see more of the form which has seen some experts suggesting the joint venture could repeat the efforts of Balmain in 2012 in winning the NSW Cup competititon.

Manly have been struggling on the other hand in recent weeks, and are at the bottom of the ladder, but this could come as an omen against their arch rivals.

Eagles coach Luke Williamson will be hoping the experienced players like Jack Littlejohn, Tom Symonds and Epalahame Lauaki can lead his side around the park against the much fancied Tigers outfit and cause an upset win on Sunday.

Join Mike Shean and Ryan Norris for the call of the game on Sunday morning from 10.30am on www.893fm.com.au as the VB NSW Cup continues for 2014.
