Western Sydney experienced mixed success at this afternoon’s double header at Marconi Stadium.
The Women Western Sydney Wanderers scored their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Perth Glory giving them a chance to score a top 4 spot. With a number of players back from injury the Wanderers Women were back to full strength and a championship threat.
Helen Petinos, debutant Heather Garriock and Jenna Kingsley scored the goals for Western Sydney.
The festival of the goals continued in the second match but the it all went against the Wanderers. Sydney FC’s experience was too much for the much younger Western Sydney side.
Sydney FC won 4 – 1 over the Western Sydney youth side.
The A league team is in action tonight at Hunter Stadium against the Newcastle Jets.
