Wanderers vs Newcastle

admin Wanderers

It is expected to be a close match at Hunter Stadium on Saturday Night, with Wanderers heading up the coast to take on the third placed placed Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium.

The Jets are keen to secure second place on the ladder prior to the Christmas break and increase their chances of securing their first finals place this season. The Wanderers are expected to be resurgent keen to improve on some disappointing performances in recent weeks. The Wanderers were expected to easily win their last two matches against Wellington and the Melbourne Heart but instead walked away with just a draw.

With the Red and Black Bloc taking the road trip up the F3, a large crowd is expected between the two teams. It will almost be a home match, with at least half the crowd expected to be wearing the Red and Black. The same match last season was the biggest regular season crowd in history of the Newcastle Jets.

The Wanderers will need to be at the top of their game to defeat the in form Jets. Newcastle has not lost a match at home all season, have won four of their last five and lost just one game from their last eight matches.

It will be a Wanderers triple header on Saturday, with the Women & Youth leagues both holding matches at Marconi Stadium from 2PM
2pm: Wander Women v Perth Glory – Westfield W-League
5pm: Wanderers v Sydney FC – Foxtel National Youth league

We will have updates from both matches during our pre-match coverage from 7PM on Saturday Night. Also through our regular Twitter and Facebook.
