Drugs & Pistol Seized from Parked Car

Two men have been arrested and a firearm seized after a police operation in Cabramatta today.

About 8.30am (Wednesday 7 August 2013) police patrolling Curtin Street have approached a parked vehicle with two men inside.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at a nearby house after allegedly running from the vehicle.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

A handgun and methamphetamine were allegedly found when police searched the vehicle.

Both men were taken to Cabramatta Police Station.

The 25-year-old Cabramatta man was subsequently charged with possess unauthorised pistol, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without a licence, escape police custody and aggravated break and enter offences.

The 34-year-old Bow Bowing man was subsequently charged with driving whilst disqualified, possess prohibited drug and custody of a knife in a public place.

Both men were refused bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 8 August 2013)
