The Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair also known as the MEFF will be on again this year in Fairfield.
The Eid Festival is a celebration of one of the most important dates in the Islamic calendar as it marks the end of Ramadan.
However, more importantly what the organizers of the Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair also celebrates multiculturalism, diversity and cultural acceptance and harmony.
The festival now in its 29th year promises to be bigger and better with over 30 thousand people expected to attend the event and over 100 stalls present.
Mobinah Ahmad, coordinator of the MEFF, said that the Multicultural Eid Festival & Fair was developed by her Grandfather 29 years ago and has come a long way since then.
She also said the festival does not just celebrate the Islamic religion but also celebrates other faiths including Jewish and Christian faiths.
The Festival will be held at Fairfield Showground from 9 am on Sunday August 18.
