The ‘High Risk Melanoma Clinic’ is a research study that is currently being conducted by the Department of Dermatology at Liverpool Hospital.
Geoff Cains, Associate Professor of the Department of Dermatology of Liverpool Hospital, said that people with Melanoma the dangerous form of skin cancer, has continuously increased over the years.
In light of that fact, this research will focus on people who have had encounters with the Melanoma disease.
Also people with a family history of Melanoma will be focused on. People who volunteer to take part in the research will benefit as they get direct specialist treatment.
The study will follow this group of people with a High Risk of Melanoma over a period of years.
Professor Cains said that the purpose of this research over a lengthy period of time was for early intervention of Melanoma and to gain some more insight into the disease.
