September 2013 marks the 30th year of fulltime broadcasting for 2GLF. This is quite a milestone for the station and it also affords us a wonderful opportunity to promote the station like never before.
The best way to promote the station is to get out there amongst our community. The first opportunity for the year to do this will be the Australia Day celebrations in Woodward Park on Saturday January 26th.
Liverpool Council has organized what looks like an exciting line-up for the main stage. The acts include finalists from the Channel Nine’s THE VOICE plus headline act ‘The Collective’ – winners of Channel Seven’s X-FACTOR in 2012.
2GLF will be part of this great day and we will be broadcasting the event LIVE on the 26th and all we need is your participation.
We need people to help with the following;
• Setting up our very colourful marquee
• Setting up the broadcast equipment
• Handing out promotional material and working the crowd
• Operating the broadcast
• Recording crowd reaction and shout-outs
• Studio panel operator (s) to monitor the live feed
• Talent interviewers
• Packing up everything at the end of the night.
There will be a meeting at the station on Saturday 19th January at 2:00pm to brainstorm some ideas on how we can best carry out the broadcast. By this time Council organizers will have locked in the schedule and we will have a clear idea of what’s going to happen and will have a schedule available.
Outside broadcasts are a lot of fun and I would hope that you will get involved – even if it’s only for a short time.
Please email me if you want to be part of Australia Day and mention what you would like to help with. Send your email to; firstname.lastname@example.org or you can contact me direct on 0412277901
I look forward to seeing you at the meeting at 2pm on the 19th and again on the 26th at Woodward Park.
