Join 89.3FM as we celebrate Australia Day on January 26th. 89.3FM 2GLF will be covering all the events from both Liverpool and Fairfield.

8am – Noon: Australia Day – Fairfield Special with Carol
Carol will present a special Australia Day program from 8am – Noon covering the community events from the Fairfield area.

3pm – 9pm: Australia Day – Liverpool Live
89.3FM 2GLF will be live at Woodward Park covering Liverpool Australia Day activities.

The coverage will be available at on our Live or On Demand. We will also be posting interviews and audio from the day’s events.

Aussie Breakfast, Makepeace Oval, Fairfield, 9am – 1pm
Organised by the Fairfield City Little Athletics Club, the ‘Aussie Breakfast’ barbecue will feature face painting, a jumping castle and plenty of other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. All gold coin donations will go towards supporting local sporting youth initiatives.

Aussie Encore Music Youth Festival, Horsley Park, 12pm – 5pm
Held at Horsley Park Showground, ‘Aussie Encore’ is a music youth festival that will showcase local youth talent. The festival will feature a number of bands and performers from local high schools and youth clubs. In addition, families can also enjoy a traditional Aussie sausage sizzle.

Australia Day Barbecue, Freedom Plaza, Cabramatta, 11am – 3pm
Freedom Plaza will host a fundraising barbecue organised by the Lions Clubs of Cabramatta Cabra-Vale from 11am until 3pm. All gold coin donations will go to Westmead Hospital’s Millenium Research Foundation.

Canley Heights By Night, Canley Heights Town Centre, 4pm – 7pm
The Canley Heights Restaurant Committee and the Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry have teamed up to organise ‘Canley Heights by Night’ evening for families. The event will consist of food tasting, children’s entertainment, lion and dragon dancing and karaoke.

A Car Show is also being organised at Canley Heights between 2pm and 5pm.

BBQ and Family Fun Day, Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park, 10am – 3pm
Justcare, the charitable arm of Parkside Church, will organise a family barbecue and fun day at Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park. There will a sausage sizzle, family games, a puppet show and various performance for the whole family to enjoy. Funds raised at the event will go towards Justcare’s charitable work in supporting young people in need.

Fairfield City Council will also open its pool for free for local residents at Fairfield Leisure Centre and Prairiewood Leisure Centre.
